Chuckles are nostalgic sugar coated, chewy jelly candy in assorted flavors. The flavors are cherry, lemon, lime, orange and licorice. Which one do you save for last?
Chuckles are one of our favorite nostalgic candies here in the Groovy office! The Chuckles brand was first produced in 1921 by Fred W. Amend, who originally made marshmallows. Fred developed a formula for a new jelly candy, which solved the common problem of the outbreak of sweat on the surface of jelly candies. Freds wife actually suggested the name Chuckles just before they first hit the market, because even the name says fun. Fun fact - In 1974, Chuckles teamed up with Evel Knievel to sponsor his (ultimately unsuccessful) jump of Snake River Canyon.
